Contract Backup
In this article
Contract Backup is an Enterprise feature. Speak to your account manager about enabling it for your organization.
What is contract backup?
Contract backup allows Pivott to send a copy of each uploaded contract to your preferred cloud storage provider.
When Contract backup is enabled, every time any user uploads a file, it will be immediately sent to a folder in the third-party system of your choice.
Important details
- Only contracts added to Pivott after contract backup is enabled will be synced.
- You can enable more than one backup location at a time for redundancy.
- Make sure you have:
- Pivott Administrator permissions
- Microsoft 365 Administrator permissions (or know someone who does)
- Ability to share a folder with external sources in your cloud storage provider
Supported cloud storage providers
Pivott currently supports contract backup to:
- Microsoft 365 SharePoint
- Microsoft 365 OneDrive
If you use a different cloud storage provider and wish to use contract backup, please email help@pivott.io with your request!
Enabling for SharePoint
Head to https://app.pivott.io/settings/contract-backup and choose Backup To SharePoint:
Select the Microsoft account that matches your Pivott email address and review the required permissions for Pivott to connect with your Microsoft 365 instance. Click Accept
You'll then be asked to provide a sharing link for the folder you'd like the contract files to go into.
Head to your SharePoint site and find your folder in the Documents tab. Then, right-click the folder and select Copy Link
Copy the link. Make sure the link says Anyone with the link can edit
Head back to Pivott, paste in the share link, and hit Save
You should now see that SharePoint is connected, and your future contract files will be backed up!
